In Ukraine, selling prices for potatoes began to decline, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. Prices for potatoes are under pressure from a fairly abundant supply, while potato sales are slow. As a result, manufacturers are lowering prices in order to increase the rate of sales of these products.
Currently, Ukrainian producers offer potatoes for sale at a price of 5-7 UAH / kg ($ 0.18-0.25 / kg), which is on average 12% cheaper than a week earlier. The main reason for the decline in potato prices is the so-called seasonal factor when the volume of products on the market increases almost daily.
Besides, potatoes in Ukraine are already offered on average 25% cheaper than in the same period last year. At the same time, most of the key market players do not exclude a further decline in prices in this segment, if the rate of potato sales does not accelerate in the near future.
