Morocco is steadily progressing toward a new seasonal record in cucumber exports, showing consistent growth in shipments, according to EastFruit. During the first 10 months of the current marketing year (July 2024 – April 2025), Morocco exported 27.7 thousand tons of cucumbers valued at $26.3 million – already surpassing last year’s volume and setting a new national record.
Notably, Morocco’s cucumber exports have increased annually for six consecutive marketing years, with a cumulative average annual growth rate of 32%. Moroccan cucumbers are shipped abroad year-round, with the export peak typically occurring between November and March. In the current marketing year, the highest monthly volume – 5.9 thousand tons – was shipped in January, representing the largest monthly figure ever recorded.
Spain remains the primary export destination for Moroccan cucumbers. This marketing year, Spain accounted for 57% of the total export structure. Shipments to Spain have grown steadily since MY 2022/23, driving the overall increase in cucumber exports.

The United Kingdom ranks as the second most important market for Moroccan cucumber sales. However, exports to the UK declined this year compared to the previous marketing year. In contrast, shipments to Portugal are expanding, making it the third-largest export destination this year.
Mauritania continues to be an important market for Moroccan cucumbers, although exports to this country have shown a consistently negative trend in recent years.
There has also been a notable increase in cucumber exports to Italy and the Netherlands. Although current shipment volumes to these countries remain modest, these emerging markets are considered highly promising and contribute to Morocco’s successful export diversification.
It is worth mentioning that Morocco has also achieved a new record in carrot exports for the fifth consecutive year.
