Morocco has achieved a new milestone in the European frozen raspberry trade, with the Netherlands importing record volumes in 2025, according to EastFruit. Last year, Dutch imports of Moroccan frozen raspberries reached 1,000 tons, valued at more than EUR 2 million. This represents a 50% increase over 2024 and quadruple the 2023 figure.

Overall Dutch imports of frozen raspberries rose sharply in 2025, totaling 13,500 tons, up 21% year-on-year and more than double 2023 volumes. Poland remained the dominant supplier with a 32% share, while Germany, Chile, and Serbia together accounted for another third. Morocco entered the top five suppliers for the first time, raising its share to 7.4% from 5.5% in 2024.

This expansion reflects a broader transformation in Morocco’s berry industry. Once known mainly for fresh exports, Morocco is now aggressively building capacity in frozen production. Compliance with Global G.A.P. and BRC standards has been critical, and Dutch traders report that Moroccan berries now match European benchmarks in cleaning and sorting quality.
Morocco’s success in the Netherlands complements its growing footprint elsewhere in Europe. In 2025, the country also set a record for frozen raspberry exports to France, underscoring its rising competitiveness in the EU frozen fruit sector.
