Increased Supply has led to a Price drop for Raspberries on Ukraine’s fresh Market

Raspberry prices for the fresh market in Ukraine have noticeably declined this week, according to EastFruit analysts. Producers attribute this negative price trend to an increase in raspberry supply on the market.

Currently, wholesale raspberry batches are being sold at 160-250 UAH/kg ($3.83-5.98/kg), approximately 15% cheaper than at the end of last week.

The primary reason for the rapid decline in local raspberry prices, as highlighted by Ukrainian farmers, is the increase in raspberry supply. Nearly all farms have begun harvesting raspberries, further accelerated by favorable weather conditions. Warm and sunny weather across most of the country significantly contributed to the rapid ripening of the berries.

Despite the recent price reduction, raspberries for the fresh market in Ukraine are currently being sold at prices averaging 90% higher than the same period last year. However, most producers anticipate further price declines.
