In Ukraine, the price of white cabbage is rising

This week, the Ukrainian market has witnessed an increase in white cabbage prices, as reported by the analysts of the EastFruit project. The primary reason for the positive price trend in this segment has been a noticeable surge in demand. However, this situation prevailed only in the segment of high-quality products.

Under these circumstances, owners of high-quality cabbage have had the opportunity to raise their sales prices. Currently, they are willing to ship this product in the range of 20-27 UAH/kg ($0.48-0.65/kg), depending on the quality and volume of the offerings, which is on average 11% more expensive than a week earlier.

At the same time, the supply of white cabbage in the market is relatively limited, as many farms prefer not to rush with sales, as they do not rule out the possibility of further price increases in the coming weeks.

It is worth noting that as of today, the price of white cabbage in Ukraine is already on average 2.7 times higher than during the same period in 2023, and most market participants predict further price hikes. They justify their opinion by citing a decrease in production of this product within the country, as well as a noticeable reduction in the share of products suitable for long-term storage.
