Imports of frozen raspberries from Ukraine caused lower prices in Poland

Imports of Ukrainian frozen raspberries to Poland amounted to one third of the production in the country. Its peak was in September, when purchase prices for autumn raspberries in Poland fell below the cost of production.

This is reported by AgroTimes with reference to the Polish Sad24.

The production of frozen raspberries in Poland in 2020 and 2021 amounted to about 60 000 tonnes per year.

“However, duty-free imports of frozen raspberries from Ukraine literally turned the domestic market upside down last year,” the media notes.

A volume of frozen raspberries imported to Poland in just 4 months was equal to 27% of the entire Polish annual production.
