This week, Ukraine is witnessing a drop in prices for greenhouse cucumbers, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. Warm weather, which settled across the country in the middle of last week, has significantly accelerated the ripening of local greenhouse vegetables. As a result, cucumber yields at greenhouse farms are rising rapidly, and due to the sudden surge in supply, Ukrainian producers are being forced to reduce their selling prices in this segment.
As of today, Ukrainian greenhouse complexes are offering cucumbers at 75–125 UAH/kg ($1.89–$3.02/kg), which is on average 17% lower than a week ago.

Representatives of greenhouse farms attribute this downward pricing trend to a significant decline in demand. At the same time, the supply of cucumbers on the market continues to grow rapidly. Imports from Romania, which are typically priced no higher than 60 UAH/kg ($1.45/kg) on the Ukrainian market, also remain stable and more affordable, further intensifying competition.
Despite the recent price drop, greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine are still, on average, 15% more expensive than during the same period last year.
