At the beginning of this week, the first batches of locally grown greenhouse tomatoes from Ukrainian agricultural complexes entered the Ukrainian market, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. It is worth noting that in 2024, Ukrainian greenhouse producers delivered the first tomato batches to the market approximately one and a half weeks later on average compared to the current season. At the same time, the overall harvest volume remains low due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Currently, Ukrainian greenhouse complexes are offering the first batches of tomatoes at prices ranging from 85 to 110 UAH/kg ($2.06–2.67/kg), which is on average 26% lower than the prices for the first batches of this product last year. According to market participants, large-scale shipments from greenhouse producers are not expected before the end of the current month.
