Egypt has achieved a record-breaking surge in mandarin exports to Estonia, significantly strengthening its market presence. According EastFruit, between November 2024 and June 2025, Egyptian exporters shipped 610 tons of mandarins to Estonia with a total value of $717,000. This volume is three times higher than the total exports in the previous marketing year and eight times greater than in MY 2021/22, marking a historic milestone in trade relations between the two countries. The average annual growth rate over the past three marketing years reached an impressive 100%.
Mandarins are Egypt’s third most valuable fruit and berry export category, following oranges and frozen garden strawberries. During the current MY, Egypt exported mandarins to 65 countries worldwide. While Estonia is not among Egypt’s top export destinations—such as Saudi Arabia, Brazil, or the United Kingdom—shipments to Estonia contribute to expanding export volumes and diversifying geographic reach.
Spain remains the dominant supplier of mandarins to Estonia, accounting for 50% to 75% of total imports. Egypt, Morocco, Italy, and Greece compete for the remaining market share.

In the current MY, imports from Spain have declined significantly. Between November 2024 and June 2025, Spain exported nearly 30% fewer mandarins to Estonia compared to the same period in the previous MY. This decline opened the door for competing suppliers to increase their market presence.
Mandarin imports to Estonia typically peak in December. Egypt’s highest export volumes, however, occur from January through March—precisely when other major suppliers begin to scale back. In January and February of this year, Egyptian mandarins accounted for 30% of Estonia’s market share, rising to 55% in March.
As a result, Egypt not only set a new record for mandarin exports to Estonia but also outpaced key competitors Morocco and Greece in market share.
In addition to mandarins, Egypt continues to actively export oranges and lemons to Estonia.
Notably, in the previous MY, Egypt also doubled its direct mandarin exports to Poland.
