Egypt continues its upward trajectory in date exports to Morocco, setting a new seasonal record for the third year in a row, according to EastFruit.
Between October 2024 and August 2025, Egyptian exporters shipped nearly 39,100 tons of dates to Morocco, valued at $47.6 million. This volume surpasses last season’s record by 7% and is triple the amount exported during the 2021/22 season.
Morocco remains Egypt’s top destination for date exports. In the 2024/25 season, shipments to Morocco accounted for over 40% of Egypt’s total date export volume.

Exports of Egypt’s new harvest typically begin in October, with peak volumes occurring between November and March, closely aligned with Morocco’s peak import season. This year, the highest monthly shipment reached 8,300 tons in February.
Globally, Egypt ranked seventh among date exporters in 2024. However, in Morocco, it has outpaced key competitors and maintained its position as the leading supplier for three consecutive seasons. Notably, Egypt was the only major supplier to increase its export volume to Morocco this season, despite an overall decline in the country’s date imports.
As a result, Egypt’s share of Morocco’s date imports rose to 31%, up from 25% the previous season and just 12% in 2021/22, further solidifying its dominance in the market.
Egypt also set a new seasonal export record for dates to Indonesia and continues to expand its footprint in Turkey.
