This week, greenhouse producers in Ukraine have started to raise their selling prices for cucumbers, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. The upward price trend is primarily attributed to a noticeable decline in supply caused by unfavorable weather conditions. At the same time, demand for cucumbers remains relatively strong, providing additional support for price growth.

Market participants link the current situation to a seasonal decline in supply, as many stationary greenhouse operations have already completed harvesting their first cucumber crop cycle. The second cycle is not expected to begin until the second half of August. Those producers who are still supplying the market report increasing prices almost daily, citing steady and active sales.

Additional upward pressure on prices also comes from the limited availability of field-grown cucumbers, which remain in short supply.
It is worth noting that despite the current price increase, cucumbers in Ukraine are still, on average, 24% cheaper than during the same period last year. However, producers acknowledge that if weather conditions improve, the market situation could change significantly.
