Carrot Prices Continue to Decline in Ukraine

For the fifth consecutive week, farmgate carrot prices in Ukraine have been falling, according to analysts at EastFruit. Market operators attribute the ongoing price decline to an oversupply of carrots on the market, coupled with relatively low consumer demand for this root crop.

Currently, most sales of 2025-harvested carrots are taking place at UAH 9–16/kg ($0.22–0.38/kg), which is, on average, 10% lower than prices recorded the previous week. Industry experts link this latest price drop to the oversaturation of the market with carrots.

In addition, a notable decrease in demand for carrots has been reported, while harvesting is progressing actively in nearly all regions of the country. Under these conditions, producers are being forced to offer price concessions to attract buyers and sell their current volumes.

It is also worth noting that, as of today, carrots in Ukraine are being sold at prices that are, on average, 10% lower than at the end of July 2024.
