This week, early-season cabbage prices began to rise in Ukraine, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. Producers report that the main reason for the price increase is seasonal: the supply of early cabbage varieties has essentially run out, while later varieties have not yet reached the market.
As of today, producers are offering white cabbage at prices ranging from 10 to 20 UAH/kg ($0.24–0.48/kg), which is on average 29% higher than at the end of last week.
According to farmers, the price growth is due to reduced market supply during the transitional period between the early and mid-season harvests. The harvest of early cabbage varieties is nearing completion, while large-scale harvesting of mid-season varieties has not yet begun. At the same time, demand for cabbage remains high, further driving prices upward.

Notably, cabbage from the 2025 harvest is currently selling at an average of 2.9 times more than at the same time in mid-June last year. However, market participants do not rule out a possible return to a downward price trend in the near future, once producers begin harvesting mid-season cabbage varieties on a larger scale.
