Beetroot prices are increasing in Ukraine

There was an increase in prices for beetroots in most regions of Ukraine this week. The main reason for the positive changes is the seasonal reduction in its supply, according to analysts of the APK-Inform: Vegetables and Fruits project. Many producers have already reported the depletion of their stocks of beetroots. As a result, farmers who still have high and standard quality beetroots can increase their prices for the crops.

Today, Ukrainian producers are ready to ship high-quality beetroots at UAH 5-8/kg ($ 0.18-0.29/kg), which is on average 29% more expensive than at the end of the last working week.

Also, there are lots of beetroots on the market, the quality of which has already deteriorated due to long-term storage. Farmers are ready to sell an inferior quality product starting from UAH 3/kg ($ 0.11/kg).

Prices for beetroots in Ukraine are now already 1.8 times higher on average than at the end of April 2020. Moreover, the majority of market players agree that the upward price dynamics will continue to prevail in this segment.
