This week, the Ukrainian market continues to see an increase in the supply of new harvest beets from local farms, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. Meanwhile, prices for last year’s roots remain at record-high levels.
The supply of 2024 harvest beets in the Ukrainian market is quite limited, but demand for these vegetables from buyers remains high. As a result, prices for these root crops have been at record-high levels for several months compared to last season’s prices. Currently, the product is being sold for 25-33 UAH/kg ($0.60-0.80/kg), depending on quality and batch sizes, which is, on average, 21% higher than during the same period last year.

The season for new harvest table beets began approximately at the same time as it did last year. Current wholesale prices range from 32-40 UAH/kg ($0.77-0.96/kg). As the supply of new harvest beets increases, prices for the product are gradually decreasing. However, market participants say that this season’s decrease may be minimal due to the lack of pressure on prices from transitional stocks of 2024 harvest vegetables.
