As of today, the majority of Ukrainian apple growers have reported the practical completion of the sales season for locally produced apples, according to analysts at the international platform EastFruit. Producers who still hold sufficient volumes of apples for sale have promptly raised their wholesale prices for the remaining stock.
Since the beginning of this week alone, wholesale prices for apples on the Ukrainian market have increased by an average of 14%. Currently, apples are being sold at prices ranging from 32 to 40 UAH/kg ($0.77–0.97/kg).
According to key market players, this price hike is primarily driven by seasonal factors. Stocks of last year’s harvest are rapidly dwindling, while apples from the new season are not expected to appear on the market for at least several more weeks. Due to a cold and prolonged spring this year, the early apple season in Ukraine is experiencing a significant delay.

It is worth noting that current wholesale prices for apples in Ukraine are already, on average, twice as high as they were during the same period last year. Market experts generally agree that prices in this segment will continue to rise until apples from the new harvest become available.
