Weak demand for apples combined with a growing supply of autumn varieties is once again forcing Ukrainian growers to lower wholesale prices in this segment, according to analysts of the EastFruit project.


Currently, the market is mainly supplied with autumn apple varieties that are not suitable for long-term storage. As a result, growers are trying to sell them as quickly as possible and are reducing prices accordingly.

Nevertheless, despite the current decline, apples on the Ukrainian market today are offered at twice the price compared to the same period last year. Industry experts attribute this price trend to a decrease in the country’s total apple harvest.
