Although the harvest of Ukraine’s new apple crop has only recently begun, wholesale prices for these fruits are falling rapidly, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. Producers attribute the downward price trend primarily to the almost complete lack of demand for summer apple varieties from the 2025 harvest.
Since the beginning of this week alone, prices for new-season apples have dropped by an average of 12%. As of today, sales are taking place in the range of 35–45 UAH/kg ($0.85–1.09/kg), depending on the variety and batch size. At the same time, most wholesale companies and retail chains are still offering last year’s apples, particularly imports from Poland.
Market participants explain the decline in prices by the seasonal increase in supply from Ukrainian orchards. However, demand from both domestic wholesalers and exporters remains subdued, further weighing on the market.

It is noteworthy that despite the current downward trend, apples in Ukraine are still selling at more than 2.2 times higher on average than during the same period last year.
