Environment and luxurious: a hotel in Tbilisi grows vegetables and herbs in SpaceFarms vertical modules

Pullman Tbilisi Axis Towers, Accor’s flagship hotel, presented its sustainability initiative – a vertical farm from SpaceFarms, EastFruit reports with reference to the company’s page. This innovative project underscores Pullman’s commitment to creating sustainable value, environmental responsibility, and community engagement. As part of this initiative, the hotel grows culinary herbs for use in Dumas Restaurant and Weather Report, its iconic sky bar.

Modular farms Spots

At the heart of this sustainability project is the implementation of Spots Modular Farming. These modular farms are operated remotely 24/7, growing various leafy vegetables and herbs without pesticides or herbicides. The controlled environment in which Spots operate significantly reduces the emissions, transportation costs, and overall carbon footprint associated with traditional farming.

One of the most notable characteristics of Spots modules is their flexibility. They can be strategically placed in various locations to ensure fresh, nutrient-dense food is delivered directly to consumers. These farms are designed to consume minimal water and energy, making them eco-friendly and sustainable solutions.

It should be noted that Spots were presented at the International Conference “HortiTech – the latest digital technologies in the fruit and vegetable business – opportunities for Georgia”, held in Tbilisi in May 2023.

Revolutionizing agriculture for a sustainable future

In collaboration with SpaceFarms.ge, Pullman Tbilisi Axis Towers is leading an agricultural revolution by integrating Spots into its operations. This innovative approach to farming not only increases yields but also promotes environmental sustainability. This makes it possible to enjoy healthy, locally grown products year-round, mitigating the environmental impact of traditional agriculture.
