Carrot stocks in Ukraine are nearly depleted as prices rise by 22% in a week

An upward price trend has been observed on the Ukrainian market for last season’s carrots, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. Experts note that carrot stocks in storage facilities of local farms are almost exhausted, while demand for this product remains relatively stable. Under these conditions, farmers who still have certain volumes of carrots available have gained an opportunity to raise their selling prices.

Currently, Ukrainian producers offer high-quality carrots at prices ranging from UAH 9 to 16 per kilogram ($0.21–0.36/kg), which is on average 22% higher than at the end of the previous working week. According to key market players, trading activity in this segment has increased significantly. Combined with the seasonal reduction of carrot stocks, this has resulted in a shortage of high-quality produce on the market.

It is also worth noting that a similar situation was observed on the Ukrainian carrot market a year ago, but prices for high-quality produce were on average 3.2 times higher than they are now.
